Welcome to my artistic journey!

A multidisciplinary artist since 1997, my work draws inspiration from my roots and education in Fine Art and Illustration in South Africa. With a keen eye for composition and detail, I capture the beauty and serenity of our natural environment with a contemporary, vibrant and illustrative style. My aim is to draw out the beauty in everyday life as a collector of positive moments and memories.

The power of visual storytelling compelled me into my chosen creative path. Today my job titles include Fine Artist, Illustrator, Digital storyboard artist and Project Manager. I have exhibited in Fins Gallery, Morgan Street Gallery, Depot Gallery, Artport Gallery and many of my oil paintings have sold by word of mouth.

For almost 3 decades, I have illustrated Children's picture books and educational readers and collaborated with various publishers in South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, including Scholastic, Cengage Learning, Sunshine Books, MacMillan and Scholastic. My latest being an Oratia Books series called Nanny Mihi’s Medicine and Nanny Mihi’s Harvest.
Drawing on my creative skills as an Illustrator to create unique and vibrant oil paintings and driven by a desire to create art that people can connect with and enjoy, I create works that feel alive, are visually engaging and thought-provoking. Done through the use of vibrant colours, layered textures and carefully considered compositions.
Whether creating works of art with oil paint or digitally created characters or illustrations, I aim to capture the energy and clarity in each piece, which will allow viewers to connect to my work and also leave with a memory of it.
My latest collection of paintings reflects my fascination with water and its ever-changing properties. I also have an affinity for all things beautiful and shiny, a magpie of sorts if you like, including the wonderful narrative we get from flora, specifically gorgeous peonies.
Did you know that looking at water is therapeutic, improving your mental health and reducing your blood pressure…even if it’s a painting?
